Service of Remembrance & Hope
Wednesday, October 3, 2012, 7-8p
(ST LOUIS)
A Service of Remembrance & Hope at MCC of Greater St Louis, to honor the journey, is hosted by the AIDS Interfaith Network and MCC of Greater Saint Louis. Wednesday, October 3, 2012, 7-8p.
This service will honor our journey from the beginning of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, when loss was all around, through days of survival to gradual dawning of increased hope for health-filled living. Refreshments will be provided. For more information contact Nancy at 314-333-6666 ornkelley@stlefa.org
We Need Your Help!
Help identify those in the photos on the AIDS Memorial Table! Ezekiel Project members are working to identify the "unknowns" and we need your help!
Please stop before or after service and identify a photo. If you can, write a brief biography of the individual on his page in the biography book on the stand. Instructions are provided inside the book.
Remember, the AIDS Memorial Table is open to anyone who has died from any AIDS related illness. The person need not be a member of MCC. The table is open for women, children and Trans People. Due to space we do ask that you limit your memorial to a framed picture only.

3rd Annual National Coming Out Day Candlelight March, October 11th
(BELLEVILLE)
Join Metro East Pride of Southwestern Illinois (MEPSI) for the 3rd Annual National Coming Out Day Candlelight March on, October 11th.
We will be meeting at the Belleville Carnegie Library (121 East Washington) at 6:30 p.m. to step off and walk over to Historic Main St. – and then down Main, across the square , ending at Club Escapade @ West Main and 2nd Streets.
Join us as we light the night with pride and visibility. We also recognize that bigotry exists and there are those who cannot join us. We honor and represent them – as well as the countless thousands who have been victims of anti-gay violence in the face of visibility.
Brief remarks by area community leaders will be given prior to step off.
Founded in 1988 by Robert Eichberg, National Coming Out Day (NCOD) is an internationally observed civil awareness day celebrating individuals who publicly identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender —coming out regarding one's sexual orientation and/or gender identity being akin to a cultural rite of passage for LGBT people. The holiday is observed annually by members of the gay community on October 11.
