Bethany Place in Belleville recently announced the schedule and theme for the 2nd Annual Fashion Show Fundraiser. February 10th at the Four-Points Sheraton, in Fairview Heights will again be transformed for an edgy-sheik fashion extravaganza.

Bethany Place is the largest non-profit AIDS Service Organization in the St. Louis Metro East area. In a spirit of compassion and justice, Bethany Place provides comprehensive case management and programming focused on promoting wellness and serving all people living with HIV/AIDS.

Bethany Place is dedicated to serving our neighbors in eleven counties of the Metro-East who are affected by HIV disease. With an emphasis on wellness, our staff continually strives to provide all clients with the supp

ort they need to maintain the highest possible quality of life.

Founded in 1988 by Sisters Mary Rombach and Carol Baltosiewich of the Franciscan Third Order of Hospital Sisters, Bethany Place was originally designed as an outpatient hospice service and healing ministry of Belleville's St. Elizabeth's Hospital. Bethany Place was incorporated as an independent nonprofit organization 501(c)(3) in 1992.

As a member of the St. Clair/Madison County HIV Care Consortium, Bethany Place receives funding from Ryan White Titles I and II and serves a twelve county region that includes: Bond, Calhoun, Clinton, Fayette, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Marion, Monroe, Randolph, St. Clair and Washington counties.

Belleville's PFLAG chapter will be meeting Thursday Feb 3rd at 6:30pm. This month's program will feature a guest speaker presentation from Daniel Boyt, sponsor of Belleville East High School's STRIDE group.



PFLAG (Parents & Friends of Lesbians & Gays) is a nationally recognized advocacy and family support organization. PFLAG-Belleville meets the first Thursday of each month, at St. Paul United Church of Christ. Should there be winter weather that causes the Belleville Schools to close, our meeting will be cancelled. Please watch for weather reports and school closings.

PFLAG of Belleville recently celebrated its independence as an 501(c)3 Non-Profit in the summer of 2010. Formerly known as PFOG, they are now an official chapter of the national organization. Before becoming a PFLAG chapter, the group was sponsored by CESJ (Coalition for Economic & Social Justice) & MEGS (Metro East Gays & Straights)
