The Miss Gay Alton Illinois America is an official preliminary to the 2012 Miss Gay Illinois America Pageant. Contestants will compete in categories of male interview, evening gown, on stage question, solo talent and talent.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, questions, please contact me at rainbowcafe2002@yahoo.com
Listed below are the following criteria for becoming a Rainbow Cafe volunteer:
1. Be a mentor to RC Youth
2. Attend RC Staff Meetings (approx every 3 months)
3. Sign up for shifts regularly (approx 2 Fridays [6:50p-10:10p] every 3 months)
4. Be willing to submit to and be able to pass a criminal background check
5. Support RC by attending RC events as a volunteer as needed (occasionally).
There are a variety of ways you can volunteer. Youth nights (Fridays) are just one option. Volunteers also serve in these capacities: board/committee support, community outreach, fund-raising, board member, etc.

Lou Fringe Festival is a 5-day long immersion in cutting edge
performing arts, connecting brave artists with bold audiences. Imagine
drama, dance, comedy, music, slam/spoken word, performance art, fashion,
vaudeville, circus arts - all concentrated within several city blocks
in an explosive pressure cooker of artistic expression. On any given
night, there are half-a-dozen shows with street performers
roaming the festival grounds. Patrons can vote for their favorite shows
but will never be able to see everything the festival offers. St Lou

“Artistically Speaking!” is a FREE EVENT featuring the best area Poets, Spoken Word Artists, Musicians, Vocalists, Comedians, and more and an Open Mic Session as well. It goes down in the 2nd floor art gallery at Belleville’s outstanding Seven Restaurant and Lounge, (7 S. High St., Belleville, IL, 62220) every 1st Wednesday of the month (Doors-8; Show-9).

Metro East Pride of Southwestern Illinois (MEPSI) has announced the entertainment lineup for the 5th annual festival to be held in downtown Belleville on June 16th.
Among the performances are some of our communities most widely recognized entertainers. A new addition for 2012 is the Gateway Mens Chorus who will kick off the event at Noon.

(ST. LOUIS) Pride St. Louis, Inc. in partnership with Bud Light, Lumiere Place and
River City Casino and Vital Voice Omnimedia present the 33rd annual
Pride Festival in Historic Tower Grove Park on the weekend of June 23rd
and 24th.
The Pride Parade presented by Lumiere Place and River City Casino is on Sunday , June 24 on South Grand between Utah and Arsenal and kicks off at Noon.
