Music on Main - July 27th (BELLEVILLE)

www.BellevillePride.Org
via Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce

Wednesday, July 27 · 4:30pm - 7:30pm
Belleville Public Square, Bank of America Quadrant

Belleville Main Street and the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce invite you to "Music on Main" featuring the band Colonel Ford...named by the Riverfront Times as Best Traditional Country Band. Bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket and enjoy FREE music at the Square. Food and drink will be available to purchase. No coolers or pets allowed. Rain date will be Thursday, July 28th. Music on Main is held the 4th Wednesday of ev...ery month through September.

Bio...Colonel Ford is one of St. Louis' finest musical offerings. Named by the Riverfront Times as the Best Traditional Country Band, their lonesome melodies and familiar twang fire up the dance floor and get the honky-tonk to jumpin'.

The members of Colonel Ford are all experienced musicians and masters of their respective instruments. Gary Hunt, long-time pillar of the St. Louis music scene who has toured with several national headlining acts, trades lead guitar licks with John Horton, whose name you may recognize from several other notable bands including the Bottle Rockets, and vocals with Dade Farrar. Dade's raucous, stand-up bass slap fits perfectly with the steady beat of seasoned drummer Danny Kathriner to form the group's solid rhythm foundation.

Colonel Ford also features Justin Branum on the fiddle, winner of the 2010 Grand Masters National Fiddle Contest, and Eddie Lange on the pedal steel guitar, a Nashville transplant and a former member of country great Bill Anderson's band.

The musical chemistry within the band is an incredible thing to behold and their diverse selection of classic country and western swing keeps things fun and lively all the way till last call.

by: Susan Spit-Fire

Hey everybody! Come unwind with us at the ultra-hot (and super-cool) Cigar Inn on Thurs., July 14th as we prepare for another exhilarating session of Open Mic Night @ The Inn (Doors-8; Show-9). Our Featured Artist for the night will be 29 year old Detroit, MI native Robia "IggNhyte" Fields, a phenomenal Spoken Word Artist, Poet, Writer, and Author.

Her powerful onstage presence and persona command your attention, and her word skills are one of a kind. She is quite famous in the greater St. Louis region and the Metro East, and has been featured at many local shows, among them SoulSTAGE (St. Louis’ Finest Bar & Grill), and most recently at S.W.A.U. (Spoken Word Addicts Unleashed - Escalades).

In addition, Robia has performed in cities around the country such as Kansas City, Detroit, Kalamazoo, Cincinnati, Columbia, Fulton (MO), and Jefferson City (MO). She was also honored with the chance to open up for esteemed poets J. Ivy and Jessica Care Moore, and R&B artists Jeremiah, Dwele, and Day 26. Ms. Fields earned a B.S. Degree in Biology from Lincoln University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University Of Missouri. Her interests include writing, singing, swimming, and performing. She currently resides in St. Louis, MO, where she works in Youth Drug Intervention.
Kelli Allen, highly acclaimed Poet, Author, Editor, and Scholar from St. Louis, will open for Robia.
